The compositional effort behind each piece of original music forms part of the cornerstone of our music history, and as a music institution, the HKCO cannot be more aware of the greatness of this potential. Since we created the Music from the Heart series in 1999, we have been recruiting and performing new works, holding discussion forums etc., in a bid to encourage young composers to keep up the forward momentum of Chinese music. Over the years, we have helped launch several talented composers to success. They have become key players in the music world today, and garnered prizes and accolades on international front.
