The Police Chinese Culture Club Chinese Orchestra

The Police Chinese Culture Club Chinese Orchestra was founded in 1998. Under the baton of Richard Marvin Ng, the Orchestra has developed from a small group of less than 10 members to around 40 members today.

For many years, the Orchestra has been taking part in many charity and music promotion activities every year, and has performed in exchange activities with many music and arts groups. Notable occasions include the charity show in China in 2007, and the 2013 appearance on HK TVB programme Cultural Plaza to promote Chinese music. In April 2014, the Orchestra performed at the 170th Anniversary of Hong Kong Police Force Charity Concert held at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall with renowned songstress Frances Yip.

The Orchestra has also co-organised and participated in large international music events in Hong Kong, including the 1st and 2nd Hong Kong Drum Festival, the Hong Kong Dizi and Xiao Festival and the Hong Kong Zheng Festival, providing operational support as well as performing in the programmes. At the 1st Hong Kong Drum Festival competition, representatives of the Orchestra won the Best Stage Presence Award.

All officers, administrative staff, and family members of the Hong Kong Police Force are welcome to join the Orchestra.
