Lee Tsz Yan

Percussionist of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Section Instuctor and Instrumental Class Instructor of the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra. Alumni of the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, Lee studied Chinese percussion under Yim Hok Man and learned Western percussion under Sophia Woo of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. She formerly received the HSBC Charitable Foundation Scholarship and scholarships from the government of Hong Kong to visit the Central Conservatory of Music in mainland China for advanced studies under Huang Jianhua and was awarded a gold medal at the Eighth National Youth Percussion Professional Group – University Group Folk Percussion Competition. 

In 2013, Lee became a Freelance Musician of the HKCO and began playing locally and touring with the HKCO while also actively performing in a variety of art and cultural events, including the Fifteenth Hong Kong Art Development Awards in 2021, and as a special guest of the Run-Around Ensemble representing Hong Kong at the China International Import Expo (Shanghai) in 2019 – the band’s song Love Birds was selected as one of the pieces performed by the HKCO during the event ‘HKCO Net Festival’. At the 2018 Hong Kong Drum Festival concert 'The Drums of Hong Kong', Lee played as a member of the Four Gig Heads Percussion Group and performed Percussion Quartet and Orchestra Journey

Lee has extensive teaching experience and the school drum teams under her instruction have earned high marks at the Hong Kong Drum Fest and the Hong Kong Percussion Competition.
