Kwan Lok Tin

Suona virtuoso of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Kwan joined the HKCO in 2019. Received his firsttraining in suona when he was ten, he was later trained in suona and guan under the famous suona virtuoso Guo Yazhi and received further coaching from Liu Ying and Li Guangcai. Kwan graduated from The HongKong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in suona under Xia Boyan, and was awarded a Master in Music.

In 2009, Kwan represented Hong Kong in the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales, the UK, where he won second prize in the Folk Instrumental Section. He was named a 2011 Young Music Maker by RTHK, and participated in recording, video and CD releases. In June 2019, he held a solo recital ‘Ecstasy ofNature – Suona Recital by Kwan Lok Tin’ under the HKCO’s ‘Music Integrates – The Chinese Music TalentTraining Scheme’.
