The Ancient Tea Horse Route was a major avenue for tea and horse trading in ancient China. It spanned across the southwestern regions of Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou, and connected the Han nationality with other ethnic groups, facilitating economic exchange and cultural communication. The stunning landscapes, tapestry of cultures, sights and sounds along the way formed the richest source of inspiration for music. The audience can enjoy a rewarding armchair travel experience of southwest China through the vibrant soundscapes as laid out in the programme. Children’s voice, dance performance and interactions with the orchestra members will be featured too!
