Co-presented by The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) and the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO), and featuring the Hamburg Girls' Choir (Germany) as guest choir, this concert takes "Friendship in Harmony · Music Connects Two Cities" as its core theme, building a bridge of friendship between the East and the West, across regions through music.
HKCC's in-depth cooperation with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra has spanned over 20 years, with each performance widely acclaimed. Their recent collaboration at " International Arts Carnival 2025: A Showcase of Parent-Child Works of Cheng Kok Kong " evoked the childhood memories of generations of audiences through the combination of Chinese music and choral singing. In addition, the cross-border friendship between HKCC and the Hamburg Girls' Choir has lasted for 15 years: they first performed together during HKCC's concert tour to Germany in 2012, and the Hamburg Girls' Choir made their first trip to Hong Kong to participate in "HKCC & Friends- Harmonies from Hamburg " concert in 2017.
The concert will be led by Kathy Fok (Music Director and Principal Conductor of HKCC), and Gesa Werhahn (Conductor of the Hamburg Girls' Choir). HKCC, the Hamburg Girls' Choir (Germany), and an ensemble from the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra will present a selection of exquisite repertoires. In addition, Dragon Boat, a work by Dr. Steve Ho, Composer in Residence of HKCC will have its Hong Kong premiere! It is not only a cross-cultural musical dialogue but also a testimony to precious friendship. We sincerely invite you to join us!
