This concert will take the audience on a virtual tour of the bounteous land of China from ages past to the present. Under the baton of Sun Peng, a conductor from northeast China who is also the champion of the first International Conducting Competition for Chinese Music held by the HKCO, the Orchestra conjures up the agrarian features of northeast China, the idyllic Jiangnan, the rambling mountains of Yunnan, the thriving cities of Macao and Hong Kong through music. At the end of the concert, the conductor will lead the audience to play rattle drum together and feel the passion of the Yellow River.
