Lung Heung-wing

Lung is the Artistic Director of the Hong Kong Percussion Centre. Received his Doctoral degree in Music from West Virginia University, USA, Lung was the Principal Percussionist at the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra for 19 years.  He has given performances in five continents.


He was awarded the ‘Outstanding Young Persons Award’, ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’, ‘Ten Most Outstanding Young Persons’ and the ‘Secretary for Home Affair's Commendation’.


Since 1997, he has been performing throughout the world with his son, Mark, in the ‘Father and Son Percussion Duo’. He has made musical arrangements and led more than ten thousand percussionists in performances which set three new records in the Guinness Book of Records.


He is the University Artist of the University of Hong Kong, Honorary Artist-in-Residence of the Education University of Hong Kong, lecturer of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and the Education University of Hong Kong.  He is also the Examiner of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and former Music Adviser of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
