She joined the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra in 2007. While at the University, she majored in liuqin under the tutelage of Chen I-Chien. Her accolades include the first place for Zhongruan Solo for College Students at the 2003 Taiwan Music Competition and a second runner-up for Liuqin Solo at the 2001 Taiwan Music Competition.
In recent years, apart from giving regular solo recitals, Liu has premiered many new compositions, including The Moon Back Home by Weng Chih-wen, Liu by Kuo Min-chin. She has also performed with the Taipei Liuqin Ensemble at the National Chiang Kai Shek Cultural Centre on many occasions.
