Renowned conductor and first-prize winner of the 6th Sir Georg Solti International Conductors Competition, Daye Lin, currently Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, will be making his debut concert with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. He will be conducting Seven Colours of Harmony by Zhang Chao and dizi concerto Chou-Kong-Shan (Sorrowful, Desolate Mountain), a contemporary classic by Guo Wenjing of international renown. Joining Lin and the HKCO on stage will be distinguished dizi virtuoso Tang Junqiao, who will give an exemplary interpretation of Guo’s work described as “the pinnacle of modern bamboo flute music”.
