Music from the Heart I
4-5.6.04 8:00pm
Led by Wong On-yuen, the Folk Music Ensemble of the
Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra will perform traditional folk pieces in
Chinese music.
The Folk Music Ensemble of the HKCO
Leader: Yim Hok-man
Assistant Leaders: Sun Yongzhi, Ching Sau-wing
By
tradition, the Music from the Heart series is an occasion on which musicians
of the HKCO can display the less known aspects of their talents, and a
platform for presentation of all types of original compositions by local
composers. The 2004 series sees an extension of the platform to the Mainland
as students and their teachers from China's music institutes and
conservatories are invited to present their new, original works in Chinese
music. It is hoped that by cultivating this channel of exchange, the Chinese
music scene in Hong Kong would be enlivened and more compositions would
appear.
