It is heartening to report that after our corporatization restructuring as of 1 April, 2001, the Orchestra received tremendous support, encouragement and assistance from our audiences in Hong Kong and overseas, the Government and members of the public, making it possible for us to work towards our Mission.
On entering our 33rd Orchestral Season, the Orchestra will work even harder in order to deliver more Chinese music programmes of high quality and diversity to our audiences. The programme for our upcoming season is such an exciting array of concerts that I would advise you to purchase your tickets early so as not to be disappointed. All of us at the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra look forward to welcoming you to the concerts so that together we can share in the cultural energy of this cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong.
On behalf of the Orchestra, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our audiences, the Government, our sponsors, donors, business partners, music advisors and all those who have helped us in the community. We look forward to another year of realization and improvement.
Dr Carlye TSUI, BBS, JP, MBE
