Linda Fung

Linda Fung, a former ballerina turned Taichi practitioner. At the age of 12, she started her ballet training with Mrs. Christine Liao. In 1981, she received a grant from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to study at The Royal Ballet School in London. In 1989, she received a second scholarship from the Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to further her studies at the renowned Juilliard School in New York, and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990. Linda was a former principal dancer of the Hong Kong Ballet, an artist at Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) hosting art and youth programmes on Chinese and English channels, she was once appointed as Youth Ambassador for the United Nations.


For the past decade, Linda has been studying Taichi with Master Xing Qiling, World Heritage Taichi Lineage Holder from Tian Zhen Yuan. In recent years, she has traveled with Master Xing to the US, New Zealand and Japan promoting the art of Taichi to global audiences.


At present, Linda is the Vice Chairperson of the Hong Kong Ballet Company. She is also the Chairperson of the Programming Committee, a member of the Executive and Finance committee; a Board member of the Hong Kong Dance Foundation, The Hong Kong Ballet Group, and Board of Directors of Tian Zhen Yuan .


She has held various community positions, including advisor to the Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s Dance Group, Vice Chairperson of the Hong Kong Dance Alliance, Chairperson of The Hong Kong Ballet Group, Honorary Advisor for the Hong Kong Ballet, Ballet Consultant for The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, panel member of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic Qualifications, Board member of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund, Vice Chairperson of the Hong Kong Knitwear Exporters & Manufacturers Association Board member, Honorary Consultant of the Hong Kong City Contemporary Dance Company.
