Colleen Lee

Colleen Lee made her official debut on the international concert stage after winning the 6th Prize at the 15th International Chopin Piano Competition. As a soloist, Colleen has collaborated with many major international orchestras, including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia of Spain, China Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, among many others.  Lee has appeared in major festivals including International Chopin Festivals in Poland, Meissen Pianoforte Festival in Germany and International Keyboard Festival in New York. Her performance for the Magic Piano & The Chopin Shorts animation series at the 42nd Hong Kong Arts Festival had garnered rave reviews.


Lee studied with the celebrated pedagogue Eleanor Wong at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In 2003, she was awarded scholarship from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund and the Bernard Van Zuiden Scholarship to further her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover under Professor Arie Vardi.  She was awarded the Commendation for Community Service by the Hong Kong Government in 2006 and Young Artist Award by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 2008.


Currently Colleen is a piano faculty member of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the Baptist University, and Honorary Artist-in-Residence of The Education University of Hong Kong.
