Making friends through Chinese music
The
Friends of Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra was established in
March 1998, as an organization to promote Chinese music to those interested
in the art form.
It provides members with ticket discounts, free mailings of Friends Newsletter,
Orchestra updates, concert leaflets, interviews of HKCO musicians etc..
Members enjoy ticket discounts to concerts, purchase discounts and are
offered opportunities join in different kinds of members activities
such as meet-the-artist sessions, open rehearsals, seminars
and workshops on Chinese music, etc..
Following the success of the world-record event, Music from a Thousand
Strings held at the Huqin Festival of Hong Kong, the Friends of Hong Kong
Chinese Orchestra established a sub-group called the Huqin Club
as an experience-sharing platform for huqin players in Hong Kong.
