Now what if pictures were turned into music? Song Fei, the famous virtuoso in Chinese music, will be demonstrating how this can be done by using the whole spectrum of the huqin family in playing this symphonic poem. She will be using the erhu, zhuihu, gaohu, zhonghu, banhu, erxian, jinghu and bass hu to capture the sights and sounds of the riverside in Bianjing, the capital of the Northern Song period (960 - 1127), during the Qingming Festival. The musical narrative will invite you to let your imagination take flight in order to be transported back to ancient China…
