香港中樂團與香港中樂協會將於今年10月合辦「2008香港國際中樂節」，廣邀國內外十多個國家和地區及本港之專業及業餘中樂團體參與。以音樂會友，一起推廣宣揚中樂，奏響時代的樂章。
這個中樂界的盛事由10月4至12日舉行，在香港文化中心音樂廳及港九多個場地，包括文娛中心、大學、商場演出十多場音樂會，讓國際中樂節盛況送至香港每一角落。

The Hong Kong International Festival of Chinese Orchestras, jointly organized by the HKCO and the Hong Kong Chinese Instrumental Music Association, will be held this October. Professional and amateur Chinese music groups from over ten countries and regions, including Hong Kong are invited to take part. It will be an opportunity to bring together music lovers to promote Chinese music in a music symphony representative of our era.
This spectacular event for the Chinese music world will run from 4th through 12th October. There will be over ten concerts held in various venues in Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall, the civic centres of various districts, university campus, shopping malls etc., so that people in every part of Hong Kong can share the excitement of music-making.
