For the third consecutive year, the HKCO will participate in the Hong Kong Arts Festival with our Music about China concert series. This year it will feature the works of Guo Wenjing, 'the only Chinese composer not having lived overseas for a long time but with an international standing' - The New York Times, and who has been acclaimed for his original musicality. Guo Wenjing is currently a professor and supervisor for doctoral candidates at the Department of Composition of the Central Conservatory of Music in China. His works have been performed at the world's important festivals in Edinburgh, Paris, Holland and New York, and theatres in London, Frankfurt and Rouen. Guo won seven awards at national composition contests. And was the holder of National Class One Award for Education Performance and the Baogang Education Award.
