Li Biao is one of the few professional solo percussionists on the world music scene. His astonishing technique and profound understanding of the percussion instruments as well as his extraordinary musicality have earned him a renowned reputation. He is the first Chinese percussionist to be on the faculty of the Hochschule fuer Musik in Hans-Eisler, Berlin, one of the most prestigious music institutes in the world. Li is often invited to give concerts in various parts of Europe.
Founded in 2005 and with members coming from different parts of the world, the Li Biao Percussion Group is one of the best professional percussion groups today. It has performed in many famous arts festivals and musical activities around the globe. Many famous composers have written music for it. The members can play classics, jazz, modern music and pop music. Their audience is often amazed by the huge variety of instruments they play in a concert, which can number as many as a hundred.
